KHDA Inspection Results (Decoded)
Attainment in Arabic as an Additional Language sits at Acceptable in Middle and Secondary - below the school's overall Very Good standard. DSIB recommended that assessments be accurately linked to the curriculum and rubrics used consistently. Teaching needs to be more student-centred and differentiated by years of language study.
DSIB identified that assessment information is not consistently used to influence teaching, curriculum planning, and student progress in Primary and Middle phases. Monitoring does not focus strongly enough on how data informs lesson design. Primary teachers also need to plan more individually differentiated, timely learning activities.
Inspection History
Fees & Value for Money
GEMS Our Own Indian School offers a CBSE (Indian) curriculum from KG 1 through Grade 12, with tuition fees for the 2025–2026 academic year ranging from AED 7,209 for KG 1 and KG 2 up to AED 14,696 for Grades 11 and 12. The fee structure is tiered across five bands — KG, lower primary (Grades 1–5), upper primary/middle (Grades 6–8), secondary (Grades 9–10), and senior secondary (Grades 11–12) — reflecting the increasing resources and specialist teaching required at each stage. Rated Very Good by DSIB in 2023–2024, the school represents strong value within Dubai's Indian curriculum sector.
Tuition fees are collected in 10 monthly installments (no fees in July and August, with the 9th and 10th installments collected in February). A Registration Deposit of 10% of the total annual tuition fee is charged at admission and is deductible from the year's total fees. Mandatory additional charges include activity fees, computer fees, school diary, and ID card. Board examination fees apply to Grade 10 and Grade 12 students, and CBSE registration fees apply to Grades 9 and 11. All fees are set in accordance with the KHDA School Fee Framework.
New students are required to pay a one-time application fee of AED 500 + 5% VAT to complete registration. The school also offers a partnership with FAB GEMS World Credit Card holders, who can save up to 3% by paying annual tuition fees in advance, plus receive 10% back on school expenses. An administrative fee of AED 250 + 5% VAT is charged for any returned cheques.

The Final Verdict: Who Is This School For?
THE “RIGHT FIT”
Indian expatriate families and those committed to the CBSE examination pathway who prioritise strong academic outcomes, a proven wellbeing culture, and Outstanding personal development - all at fees that are among the most accessible for a KHDA Very Good-rated school in Dubai.
THE “WRONG FIT”
Families seeking small class sizes, premium facilities, strong Arabic language outcomes, or the breadth of enrichment provision associated with higher-fee international curriculum schools in Dubai.
We chose OIS because we knew our children would eventually sit CBSE boards, and we wanted a school that takes that seriously. Three years in, the results speak for themselves - and we have not had to stretch our budget to breaking point to be here.
