United International Private School L.L.C operates the Philippine K+12 Basic Education Curriculum, approved by the Philippine Department of Education (DepEd) and regulated in Dubai by the KHDA and UAE Ministry of Education. The school spans KG1 to Grade 12, making it an all-through institution serving students aged 4 to 18. It holds the distinction of being one of only two Philippine curriculum schools in Dubai — and the oldest, having opened in 1992. Instruction is delivered primarily in English, with Filipino as a co-language of instruction, and Arabic taught in compliance with MOE-UAE requirements. Islamic Studies is compulsory for Muslim students.
The Senior High School (Grades 11–12) offers the STEM Academic Track, providing a defined pathway for students with aspirations in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Across the school, specialist programs include Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE), Citizen Advancement Training (CAdT), and Moral, Social and Cultural Studies from Grade 1 through Grade 12. An inclusion program supports 52 students of determination currently enrolled, though the DSIB 2023–2024 inspection found that curriculum adaptation and targeted support for this group remains insufficient. No formal gifted and talented program is documented.
Academic performance data presents a mixed picture. The school missed its PIRLS 2021 target of 566 by 31 points, and TIMSS benchmarks were met only in Grade 8 science. GL Progress Test results showed most students performing in line with expectations in English, but below expectations in mathematics and science — a pattern that has persisted across multiple inspection cycles. DSIB rated student attainment in mathematics as Acceptable across KG, Primary and Junior High, improving to Good only in Senior High. English attainment is rated Good across all phases, while science attainment is Acceptable in Primary. The language of instruction (Filipino) is a relative strength, rated Very Good in Junior and Senior High. No external examination results such as GCSE, A-Level or IB scores are applicable to this curriculum.
The DSIB 2023–2024 inspection rated UIPS Acceptable overall — a rating it has held since 2019–2020, having previously achieved Good ratings from 2015 to 2018. Among the two Philippine curriculum schools in Dubai, both currently hold an Acceptable rating, placing UIPS in line with its only direct peer. Across all 233 Dubai private schools, 52 schools — more than one in five — hold an Acceptable rating, meaning UIPS sits in the lower tier of the city's inspection landscape. Teaching quality was identified as a key concern: in KG and Primary, lessons remain too teacher-directed, limiting independent and active learning. Assessment data is not yet used consistently to plan differentiated activities across all phases, and a 25% teacher turnover rate adds further instability to provision.
Where UIPS genuinely distinguishes itself is in student character and community. Personal and social development was rated Outstanding across all four school phases — KG, Primary, Junior High and Senior High — a rare achievement that reflects the school's deeply values-driven culture. Students demonstrate exemplary behaviour, strong environmental awareness, and a well-developed sense of social responsibility. The school's wellbeing provision was rated Very Good overall by DSIB, underpinned by highly positive teacher-student relationships and strong parental engagement. Reading initiatives such as the Drop Everything and Listen storytelling programme actively involve parents in literacy development. The Moral, Social and Cultural Studies program, delivered from Grade 1 to Grade 12, supports critical thinking and civic awareness, with students achieving first place in the Simply Bottles recycling competition as one recent example. Inspectors flagged the under-resourced library, inconsistent curriculum adaptation for students of determination, and the need to strengthen middle leadership capacity as priority areas for improvement.
