At The Arcadia Preparatory School we are committed to delivering a modern, broad and enriched learning programme to our pupils. Our approach is based on three components:
Delivery of the new National Curriculum for England
Early Years framework for Foundation Stage
The National Primary Curriculum for England for Years 1 to 6
In-school provision of enriched learning opportunities
Early Years Explorers (EYE) programme, an experiential, hands on approach to learning for our young pupils
Enrichment Learning Programme (ELP), extended learning experiences for Years 1 and older, based on an extended school day
IT Enhanced Learning
Apple technology embedded within school to enhance teaching and learning
One to one iPad provision for pupils
Online systems for sharing pupil learning and supporting parental collaboration
Our Enrichment Learning Programme is made up of three elements, all delivered within the regular school day:
Activities provided by external experts and coaches (range of options from which parents may choose for their child)
Homework support provided by teachers
Exciting teacher-led enrichment programmes
In-school activity sessions provided by external coaches and experts.
This exciting portion of the Enrichment Learning Programme (ELP) provides parents with an opportunity to choose from a range of activities, for their child. Our aim is to ensure every pupil has the chance to experience a range of activities and to develop new skills. We will continue to communicate regularly with parents as we seek to enhance the range of activities offered, while maintaining access to popular choices, each term.
All sessions last for one hour and are delivered by highly trained external coaches and experts, experienced at delivering age appropriate activities for primary aged children. For pupils in Years 1 to 4, we provide four sessions per week, while for Foundation Stage children, one hour per week is allocated.
An exciting range of options is provided each term and parents are provided with the ability to choose from these on behalf of their child.
