Campus & Facilities
Lycée Français Jean Mermoz operates across two campuses in Dubai — the original North Campus in Al Quoz 1, established in 2017, and a new South Campus on Hessa Street that opened for the 2024–2025 academic year. The dual-campus model reflects the school's rapid growth from 170 students at opening to 1,413 students enrolled by 2024, and represents one of the most significant recent expansions among French curriculum schools in Dubai.
The North Campus houses the school's established facilities: 2 science and technology laboratories, 2 libraries, 2 gymnasiums, 2 outdoor sports courts, a semi-Olympic swimming pool, and a 300-seat auditorium. Classrooms are organised into modular clusters at primary level, with each group of four classrooms sharing a dedicated activity room — a thoughtful design that reduces transit time and encourages inter-class collaboration. All classrooms are equipped with interactive teaching technology, and the school has partnered with Vanerum and Office Inspiration to furnish spaces with ergonomic, flexible furniture designed to support varied pedagogical approaches.
KHDA rated management, staffing, facilities and resources as Outstanding in the 2023–2024 inspection — the highest possible rating in this domain and a meaningful distinction given that the overall school rating is Very Good. This finding reflects well on the physical environment relative to the school's operational maturity. Wellbeing provision was rated Good, with inspectors noting that gymnasium and pool access is made available to teachers, and that extra-curricular activities actively support student wellbeing.
The South Campus, currently accommodating all primary levels, is mid-development. Phase 2 of the South Campus — planned for completion in the near term — will add a second auditorium, a modern canteen, dedicated science floors for secondary students, a new-generation library, and a full sports complex including an 8-lane semi-Olympic pool, gymnasium Type C, gymnastics room, climbing wall, dance studio, weight room, dojo, and a rugby/football pitch. This is an ambitious build-out that, when complete, will substantially upgrade the school's overall facilities footprint.
At fees ranging from AED 39,789 to AED 68,525, LFJM sits broadly in line with the French curriculum median in Dubai — the citywide median fee for French curriculum schools is AED 50,700. At this fee level, parents should reasonably expect the core facilities already in place — pool, gymnasiums, auditorium, and technology-equipped classrooms — and the current provision on the North Campus largely meets that expectation. However, the South Campus remains a work in progress: primary-age students on that campus are currently operating without the full sports and cultural infrastructure that the Phase 2 build promises. Parents enrolling today should weigh the school's strong inspection findings and growth trajectory against the reality that some facilities remain under development.
