Lycée Français Jean Mermoz South L.L.C is a purpose-built campus that opened on Hessa Street, Al Barsha South, in September 2024, making it one of Dubai's newest French curriculum schools. Designed specifically for Kindergarten and Primary-age children (PS to CM2), the current Phase 1 build offers modern, spacious classrooms arranged in a modular format — each primary level grouped into clusters of four classrooms, each with an adjoining activity room and dedicated facilities. Every classroom is equipped with interactive technology, and students from 6ème onwards are required to use iPads, reflecting a deliberate commitment to digital learning from the outset.

Parents considering LFJM South should understand clearly that this is a campus mid-way through its development. Phase 2 — currently under construction — will add the facilities that most parents at this fee level would consider essential: science laboratories (SVT, physics-chemistry, and technology), a next-generation library, a modern canteen, a spacious auditorium, and a comprehensive sports complex. That sports complex is genuinely ambitious in scope, planned to include a semi-Olympic 8-lane swimming pool, a Type C gymnasium, a gymnastics room, a climbing wall, a dance studio, a weight room, a dojo, and an outdoor rugby and football pitch. These are facilities that would be impressive at any Dubai school — but they do not yet exist on the South campus.

This matters in fee context. At fees ranging from AED 39,789 to AED 68,525, LFJM South sits comfortably above the citywide median of AED 35,525 and broadly in line with the average fee among French curriculum schools in Dubai of AED 55,154. At the upper end of its fee range, parents are paying at the 75th percentile for French curriculum schools in Dubai — a fee point at which a fully operational campus with science labs, a library, a canteen, and sports facilities would normally be expected. Currently, those facilities are promised rather than delivered. Families enrolling now are, in effect, investing in a future campus.

The school has not yet received a KHDA/DSIB inspection rating, which is expected for a campus in its first year of operation. For context, among the 8 French curriculum schools in Dubai, 4 hold Very Good ratings and 2 hold Outstanding — a strong sector benchmark that LFJM South will be measured against in due course. The sister North campus holds a Very Good KHDA rating, which provides meaningful reassurance about the educational model being replicated here. Medical and wellbeing facility details for the South campus are [MISSING: on-site medical/nursing provision not confirmed in available data]. The learning environment in Phase 1 is described as new, light-filled, and thoughtfully designed for younger learners — a genuine strength for the early years and primary cohort currently on site.
