A BRIEF HISTORY OF DPS SOCIETY
The Delhi Public Schools, (known as Delhi Private School in the Gulf), are a chain of premier schools in India, first established in 1949. Today they have proliferated to 200 schools (approx), covering the length and breadth of India and have established a strong presence in the Gulf countries as well as in Nepal and Singapore. The schools are governed by a nerve centre – the DPS Society which ensures the highest standards and facilitates networking between its teachers, students and trainers. It has thereby created for all its schools a formidable think tank and immense human resources.
The DPS Society ensures that all its schools have a well designed, integrated curriculum for the pursuit of excellence. DPSS promotes growth of mind, body and spirit through quality education.
DPS Society is reputed for its progressive approach, with a commitment to encourage students to be global citizens by sensitizing them to concerns such as environment conservation and respect for other cultures.
The DPS motto is, “Service Before Self”, therefore we are committed to the making of a better world with the values of compassion, empathy, responsibility and caring.
The schools mainly follow the Indian School curriculum, i.e. Central Board of Secondary Education, whereby a centrally controlled examination is conducted for Grades IX, X and XII.
A Holistic approach to Education
For more than six decades, the Society has developed the DPS schools with an emancipated and farsighted vision. Today the Society is a citadel of learning, committed to developing the minds and initiative of children. The vitality of the classrooms, the energy of the playing fields and the open friendliness of the work environment, have enabled its students to reach their fullest potential, whether it is securing distinctions in the Board examinations or winning accolades in drama, debates, quizzes or sporting activities. The DPS Society has shaped the destiny of each individual entering its folds.
