Kindergarten Section

Transaction of the curriculum

• Learning centers will be set up in each classroom (literacy, math, role play, science, art, reading corner and building center)
• Provision of a safe, secure, happy and motivational environment
• Communication through play where children share their ideas and thought processes with others
• Students will be given the freedom to play, learn and make their own decisions
• Teacher will act as a facilitator sensitive to each childʼs stage of development and self confidence
• Children will learn through self discovery
• Children will learn through the senses of touch, smell, taste, sight and sound
• No controlled environment/childrenʼs creativity will not be stifled but enhanced Inclusion of all students in the learning process
• Parental involvement in the learning process
• The chosen curriculum will help develop a childʼs fine motor skills, gross motor skills. It will also make them self reliant and aware about themselves. It will help them develop and maintain social relationships and also help them understand their surroundings

Primary Section

The Junior School years at BIS will be characterized by an emphasis on developing a solid academic foundation while exposing students to a vibrant world of learning beyond the school walls. These are the formative years when the students will be initiated into their pursuit of seeking knowledge. BIS will embrace creative and critical thinking here to inspire curiosity and challenge students to excel. Students will hone their self-confi dence, emotional intelligence and perseverance.

Middle Section

The pace of academic demands will slowly be accelerated, while holistic growth will always be the focus. Our students will gradually be prepared to accept additional challenges. Students will become aware of the need to set goals and have long-term objectives. By the end of the Middle School year, our aim is that all students will gain a well rounded solid foundation and mature through character development and confi dence. As our students transition into young teenagers, our aim will be to build their self-confi dence and encourage them to explore and discover the wider world around them. Empathy and responsibility will be embedded and students will feel good about the choices they make. Students will be motivated to grasp opportunities and develop skills to succeed in a future they will help shape.
