Campus & Facilities
Amity International School Abu Dhabi occupies a purpose-built campus in Al Bahyah, positioned directly opposite an inlet of the Arabian Gulf — a setting that is not merely scenic but functionally distinctive. Opened in 2015, the school was designed from the outset with premium facilities across every phase, and the physical environment remains one of its most compelling arguments. ADEK rated management of staffing, facilities, and resources Outstanding in 2024–2025, the highest possible sub-rating, and inspectors noted that school premises are of very high quality, with many specialist facilities providing full accessibility.
The sports provision is genuinely exceptional for a school at this fee level. Amity operates an Olympic (50m) indoor swimming pool alongside a dedicated junior and training pool — a combination rare among British curriculum schools in Abu Dhabi. Outdoor sports infrastructure includes a full-size football pitch, a 400m running track, an indoor multi-sports hall, outdoor basketball courts, and tennis and netball courts. Most distinctively, the campus includes an RYA-accredited Sailing and Watersports Academy with a boathouse and direct water access to an Arabian Gulf inlet — a facility that is, to our knowledge, unique among Abu Dhabi schools and underpins the school's British Royal Yachting Association accreditation.
Academic facilities are broad and well-resourced. The school operates 8 science laboratories, Apple and Dell IT labs, and a Design and Technology Suite covering textiles, resistant materials, and graphic design. Libraries are provided separately for Nursery and Reception, Primary, and Secondary phases, each with reading hubs; the inspection report notes these are well-organised and appropriately resourced, though the school does not yet offer audiobooks or e-books — an area identified for future development. The BYOD policy supplements the fixed IT infrastructure without additional cost to families.
Arts and performance spaces are a particular strength. The campus houses a 540-seat auditorium, a Black Box Theatre, a dedicated music suite with practice rooms, an art studio and gallery, and a dance studio with a sprung floor. Early years learners benefit from phase-specific provision including a Foundation Stage gym, library, music room, and PE gym — spaces that reflect genuine investment in the youngest cohort rather than afterthought allocation.
Wellbeing infrastructure is solid: an on-site clinic operates with clear protocols and was described by inspectors as efficiently run, and cafeteria dining is available across campus. At fees ranging from AED 47,000 to AED 66,220 — broadly in line with the median for British curriculum schools in Abu Dhabi, where the citywide British curriculum median sits at AED 49,630 — parents should expect facilities that meaningfully exceed the Abu Dhabi average, and on the whole Amity delivers that. The combination of an Olympic pool, a watersports academy, a 540-seat auditorium, and Outstanding-rated facilities management represents a physical environment that holds its own against schools charging considerably more. Campus size data is not publicly disclosed, which is a minor transparency gap, but the breadth of provision across sports, arts, science, and early years suggests a substantial footprint consistent with the school's 1,595-student roll.
