The school follows the National Curriculum of England from the foundation stage to year 8 and IGCSE from Cambridge University in years 9, 10 and 11. The curriculum, enriched through a variety of carefully planned activities, including field work and visits, is broad and challenging.
 

FOUNDATION STAGE 

Foundation Stage is a special place where children feel valued and imagination is alive.
We truly believe it is essential for each child to have a happy and enjoyable education. Class numbers are carefully considered in order to provide the support and attention that each child requires. Our objective is to give each and every child a strong start in education in order that they progress with confidence and enthusiasm.

Curriculum:
Children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, based around seven areas of learning. The emphasis throughout the Foundation Stage is on engaging the children in first-hand learning experiences with a very strong emphasis on play and early communication skills.

 KEY STAGE 1 (YEARS 1 AND 2 )

At AAPS, we take strength from the very best of British education, which together with the expertise of well qualified teachers, deploying the very latest methods of teaching and learning, offers a curriculum that enables pupils to achieve their academic potential and ensures that each child becomes a life-long learner. From year 1, students study Literacy, Numeracy and Science as per the framework presented by the National Curriculum of England. In addition, students study Arabic and Islamic Studies, following the UAE’s Ministry of Education Curriculum. Humanities, is a conglomeration of History and Geography, prevalent from the age and times of the UK, UAE and India, contextualized for students to relate history to present day, ‘around us’ facts. Art & Design has a specific cross curricular approach, whilst Information Communication Technology is studied as an extensive application-oriented subject, related to all others. In Year 2, ‘Robotics’ is infused into ICT, to give students the cutting edge advantage in Science and Technology.
 

 KEY STAGE 2 (YEARS 3, 4, 5 AND 6) AND KEY STAGE 3 (YEARS 7, 8 AND 9)

Students in this programme follow Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 of the National Curriculum for England, which continues to build on the foundations that are established in FS and Key Stage 1.
We encourage students to think independently, use their initiative and to participate in a meaningful and active manner in the learning process. Most subjects that students study in KS 1 continue into KS 2 and 3. The approach to teaching and learning is based on investigation, research, questioning, projects and collaboration. Most subjects advance in content and hence demands greater progression of skills acquired by students to further the knowledge gained in these year groups. 
Students demonstrate mature qualities of empathy, reasoning and critical thinking, taking on the mantle of leadership and responsibility. 
A well-formulated Student Council operates in the School, engaging students from years 3 to 11. After school clubs and a plethora of opportunities are offered to students in these year groups to widen their skills and understanding. 
AAPS provides appropriate ‘career counseling’ and ‘career search assessment’ for students in year 8, helping them to choose wisely from the IGCSE subject options.
   

KEY STAGE 4 (YEARS 10 - 11)

• AAPS offers IGCSE qualifications from the University of Cambridge at years 10 and 11. A range of subjects, catering to a variety of academic needs and interests, are offered. These include the following subjects:
• English, Mathematics, ICT and PE
• Biology, Physics or Chemistry
• Accounting, Economics or Business Studies
• Arabic or Hindi as a Modern Foreign Language
• Environmental Management
• MoE Islamic Education and Arabic

To bridge the gap between the industry, academia and the student community, students in year 10 and 11 are offered the opportunity to train on the job. The school prepares students for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life
