At Jigsaw, our curriculum is based on the guidelines laid down by the UK government in the Early Years Foundation Stage document.

The EYFS has four main areas:

A Unique Child – Every child is a competent learner who can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured. This theme reinforces the need for all aspects of provision to be responsive to the needs of each child.

    
Positive Relationships – Children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships. This theme highlights the crucial role early years practitioners have in working with parents to support the learning and development of children.

Enabling Environments – The environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children’s development and learning. This theme highlights the importance of observing children as part of the planning process.
Learning and Development – Children develop and learn at different rates and all areas of Learning and Development are equally important and interconnected. 

This theme involves four areas :
     1. Play and Exploration
     2. Active Learning
     3. Creativity and Critical Thinking
     4. Areas of Learning and Development
