School Principal Forum Held in Dubai to Discuss Moral Education Curriculum
DUBAI – Senior officials from 1,300 public and private schools from across the nation met with members of the Moral Education Commission to discuss plans for the moral education program, at the 2017 School Principal’s Forum in Dubai.
Members of the Moral Education Commission include the Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince’s Court, Abu Dhabi Education Council, the Ministry of Education, the Dubai Knowledge and Human Development Authority and the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority.
The curriculum, which will be implemented on a national level, aims to help new generations acquire skills that will help them compete in a fast-changing environment, encourage shared human values, and promote compassion, acceptance and co-operation values to achieve a sustainable, content and flourishing society.
Minister of Education Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi said that having this curriculum is considered a true achievement in the sector of education.
"We all share a large responsibility to raise a generation of citizens and residents, and enable them to build a future that is full of scientific and intellectual achievements, and to achieve a sustainable, happy and productive society in the UAE," he said.
Members of the forum discussed how to go about drafting the curriculum within the framework of the UAE community and other issues related to leadership in schools.
Many education sector senior officials and experts from both inside and outside the country were in attendance, including: Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Education Council; Dr. Abdullah Al Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director-General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority; Jameela bint Salem Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Public Education; Mohammed Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority; and Dr. Zaki Nusseibeh, Ministry of Presidency Affairs Cultural Advisor.
