The English College Dubai L.L.C delivers a full UK National Curriculum education from EYFS (FS1–FS2) through to Year 13, making it one of the few British schools in Dubai offering a genuinely unbroken pathway from age three to university entry on a single campus. At the senior end, students sit GCSE and IGCSE qualifications in Years 10 and 11, before progressing to A Level, AS Level, and BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Sixth Form — a vocational option that meaningfully broadens post-16 pathways beyond purely academic routes. The school is accredited by BSO, examined through AQA and Pearson Edexcel, and sits within the International Schools Partnership (ISP) global network.

The most recent DSIB inspection, conducted in December 2023, awarded the school an overall rating of Very Good — a position it has now held for two consecutive cycles, having moved up from Good in 2022–23 after several years at that lower band. Inspectors rated curriculum design and implementation as Outstanding across Foundation Stage, Primary, and Secondary — one of the most emphatic findings in the report. Mathematics attainment was rated Outstanding at Post-16, and science attainment reached Outstanding at Secondary, with very good progress recorded in both subjects across all other phases. English attainment was rated Very Good across FS, Primary, and Secondary. Among 105 British curriculum schools in Dubai, only 18 hold the top Outstanding rating; The English College sits in the next tier — a position shared by 24 British curriculum schools citywide — placing it clearly above the majority of its peer group.

Exam performance data is limited in the public domain, but the school recorded 34 awards in the 2024 Pearson Edexcel examinations, described as global honours, alongside strong A Level and BTEC results for the Class of 2024. Granular GCSE and A Level percentage breakdowns are not currently published. The school uses CAT4 assessments to track student potential and identify both gifted and talented learners and those requiring additional support — a data-driven approach that underpins personalised learning across all phases. The Gifted & Talented (CAT4 tracking) programme sits alongside a dedicated SEN/Inclusion provision, with 86 students of determination currently supported by a whole-school Inclusion Team.

Inspectors and WSA reviewers have identified several areas requiring attention. Arabic attainment remains Acceptable across all phases, a persistent gap relative to the school's otherwise strong academic profile, and Islamic Education sits at Good — both subjects below the standard of core curriculum performance. The DSIB report specifically calls for achievement in these subjects to be raised to match other core areas. Data use — particularly in FS and Post-16 — was flagged as insufficiently driving improvement, and inspectors noted that technology integration in lessons remains underdeveloped despite the school's stated EdTech ambitions. English reading literacy skills were also identified for improvement, with the school's PIRLS score of 535 placing it at an Intermediate international benchmark. A teacher turnover rate of 25%, noted by WSA, is a figure parents should weigh when considering continuity of teaching relationships.
