Lycée Français International - Mudon is one of Dubai's most anticipated new school openings, with a purpose-built permanent campus in Mudon designed from the ground up to reflect contemporary French pedagogical thinking. The school opened for the 2025 academic year, initially operating from a fully equipped interim site at Meydan while the permanent Mudon building — scheduled for handover between April and July 2026 — completes construction. Parents should factor this transitional period into their decision-making, though the school has been transparent about the timeline.

When the permanent campus opens, the facility specification is genuinely impressive for a primary-only school. Classrooms are designed to a minimum of 73 m² each — generously proportioned by any standard — with corridors of at least 4 metres wide, creating an environment that avoids the cramped feel common in older Dubai school buildings. The campus includes science laboratories, a pedagogical kitchen and pedagogical garden for hands-on learning, connected classrooms from CM1 (Grade 4) with dedicated IT support on site, and four separate playgrounds with motor skills rooms for early years. A 526-seat auditorium is a standout feature rarely seen at primary level, and the 535 m² canteen signals serious investment in the dining experience. Sports provision includes a semi-Olympic swimming pool, sports courts, and motor skills rooms — strong for an ages 3–11 campus. Underground parking adds a practical convenience often overlooked at Dubai schools.

On the medical and wellbeing front, LFI Mudon provides an on-site infirmary and a dedicated school doctor — a level of medical provision that exceeds what many Dubai schools offer at comparable fee levels. The school has separate dedicated email contacts for both the infirmary and doctor, suggesting these are genuine staffed roles rather than nominal positions.

LFI Mudon has not yet received a KHDA inspection rating, classified as a new school among the 27 in Dubai yet to undergo substantive review. The school's stated ambition is to replicate the Outstanding rating held by its sister campus, LFI Oud Metha — one of only two French curriculum schools in Dubai to hold that distinction, and one of just 23 Outstanding-rated schools across all 233 Dubai private schools. Shared leadership under Proviseur Sylvain Lunetta and the deployment of Oud Metha teaching staff to Mudon provide some grounds for optimism, though parents should note that an inspection rating remains pending.

At fees ranging from AED 65,000 to AED 80,000, LFI Mudon sits well above the median fee for French curriculum schools in Dubai (AED 50,700) and above the citywide median of AED 35,525. At this fee level, parents should reasonably expect — and the campus specification largely delivers — superior spatial standards, specialist facilities, and medical provision beyond the norm. The pedagogical kitchen and garden, the auditorium, and the semi-Olympic pool are genuine differentiators. The principal caveat is the interim campus arrangement for the 2025–2026 year; parents enrolling now should seek clarity on which specific facilities are operational at the Meydan site versus what awaits in the permanent building.
