Elementary School

The elementary core curricular programs are purposefully spiraled and vertically aligned to provide students with a clear progression of concepts, content and skills. Subjects are aligned to nationally recognized standards and benchmarks and feature programs that are research-based and proven to be effective in meeting our students’ needs. In addition to daily literacy, numeracy, and Arabic instruction, students explore social studies and science topics as well as attend art, music, and physical education classes that are offered on a rotating three-day schedule. Technology and library skills are integrated into grade-specific curricular topics.

Middle School

All students in the Middle School take a core selection of courses. All students take math, science, English/language arts, and social studies. In addition to these courses, all students take a world language, health and wellness, and physical education.

Grade 6 students all take a semester of drama and art. Grade 6 students choose either choral music or band as a year-long elective. In Grades 7 and 8, students may select the encore classes they wish. Band, Choir and Art are year-long electives.

High School

As noted elsewhere, the ACS community is unified around several core values; among them: people have equal intrinsic value; diversity with respect is a strength; and ethical and responsible conduct is fundamental to sustaining our society; and people are responsible for their choices, actions, and the consequences that result
