Curriculum & Approach
Redwood follows the authentic Montessori method, which allows children to learn by following their own individual interests rather than a fixed, teacher-led syllabus. This approach is intended to nurture self-motivated learners who develop independence, problem-solving skills and confidence over time. Classrooms are furnished with natural, open-ended materials that support hands-on, sensory exploration. Children progress through structured Montessori stages appropriate to their age, moving from sensory and motor exploration in the earliest years towards early literacy, numeracy and independence skills as they approach school age. At Jumeirah Park, Redwood offers a KHDA-approved Advanced Montessori programme for children aged 4 to 6, preparing them for entry into primary school with a focus on reading, foundational maths, cooperation and a growth mindset within mixed-age classes.
Ages & Programs
Age range: 3 months to 6 years
Redwood organises children into distinct age-based stages, each with a tailored approach reflecting the child's stage of development. Babies aged 3 to 12 months are supported in a calm, nurturing environment that encourages early exploration and the development of gross and fine motor skills. Toddlers aged 1 to 2 years explore an environment scaled to their needs, building independence, confidence and early verbal skills. The Preschool stage, for children aged 2 to 3 years, introduces early writing and counting through concrete, hands-on materials, alongside social skills such as courtesy and empathy. Children aged 3 to 4 years join the Foundation stage, focused on emotional intelligence, cooperation, and early literacy and numeracy in preparation for school. The Advanced Montessori programme, available at the Dubai Redwood location, supports children aged 4 to 6 years with a KHDA-approved curriculum designed to build strong academic foundations before primary school.
