Curriculum & Approach

Maple Bear Nursery follows a curriculum written by a team of Canadian educational experts, who also deliver annual teacher training at each school in the network. The approach is inquiry-based and play-based, encouraging children to ask questions, investigate and discover answers through hands-on exploration rather than passive instruction. Eight areas of development, cognitive, language and literacy, dramatic play, social and emotional, gross motor, fine motor, arts and creativity, and music and movement, are addressed daily through careful planning by trained teachers. Activities are integrated thematically across subjects to stimulate creativity and self-expression while building each child's positive self-image as a capable, competent learner. Multilingual immersion is a feature of the programme, with English and French offered alongside a locally developed Arabic curriculum based on Canadian methodology. Parents are treated as partners in this journey, with daily communication through a dedicated app and regular face-to-face contact with teachers to keep families informed of progress and involved in their child's learning.
