Foundation Stage 1, for 3 to 4 year olds, introduces more structured, independent learning across early literacy, mathematics, science, languages and social skills, while Foundation Stage 2, for 4 to 5 year olds, builds on these foundations through planned units of study covering literacy, mathematics, science, languages, social skills and creative expression.
