First Path Montessori Early Childhood Center

At First Path Montessori, learning is guided by a blended curriculum that combines Montessori education, the British EYFS framework and inspiration from the Reggio Emilia approach. The EYFS provides the structured foundation, guiding children's progress across its seven key areas of learning through a balance of child-led play and adult-guided activity, with regular observation and assessment to ensure school readiness. Montessori principles sit at the heart of daily practice, with hands-on materials, mixed-age peer learning and trained Montessori guides who act as facilitators rather than instructors, helping children build independence, concentration and a genuine love of learning within a calm, prepared environment. Reggio Emilia inspiration adds a further dimension through project-based exploration, open-ended materials and provocations that spark imagination, alongside documentation of learning through photos, journals and displays. Together, these three approaches create a holistic programme supporting academic readiness, emotional well-being, cultural awareness and creativity, adapting to each child's needs from the Pines Room through to the Oaks Classroom.
