Curriculum & Approach
At Canadian Kids Nursery, the EYFS framework is combined with the Montessori method to create a balanced, play-based learning environment. The approach divides children's learning and development into seven key areas covered by the British EYFS curriculum, supported by an internationally inspired, monthly themed programme. Hands-on Montessori materials, field trips, music and movement, art and craft, and early literacy and numeracy activities feature throughout the day. Children are encouraged to explore independently, make choices and apply their learning to new situations, helping to build confidence, curiosity and a love of learning from an early age. Specific strands of the curriculum include Magic of Math for early numeracy and problem-solving, Tiny Talk for communication and language, It's All Around Me for personal, social and emotional development, Life Skills for understanding the world, Kids Crafter for art and creative development, a dedicated Literacy programme, and a Gym strand supporting physical development through indoor and outdoor activity. All strands are delivered trilingually in English, French and Arabic, giving children the chance to build language skills alongside academic and social development within a nurturing Montessori-inspired classroom.
Ages & Programs
Age range: 45 days to 5 years
Canadian Kids Nursery organises children into age-based groups, from the Infant Group through to the Foundation Stage, each following the trilingual EYFS Montessori approach. Programmes are designed to progress naturally from sensory exploration in infancy to school-readiness skills such as early reading, writing and numeracy by age four. The Infant Group, known as Butterflies, welcomes babies from 45 days to 1 year in a soft-play Montessori-inspired Infant Room with a dedicated sleeping space and low child-to-caregiver ratios. The Toddler Group, Little Trees, caters for children aged 1 to 2 years with music, books, puzzles and sensory play. The Nursery Level, Sunshine, is for children aged 2 to 3 years and introduces early literacy, numeracy and fine motor skill activities, while the Foundation Stage, Dolphins, supports children aged 3 to 4 years with a school readiness programme covering reading, writing, maths and cultural studies. After-school activities are also available for extended care, with flexible pick-up times of 2:00pm, 4:00pm or 6:00pm, offering a mix of structured activities, relaxation and free play for families needing extra flexibility.
