Curriculum & Approach
British Orchard Nursery follows the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage), a British, play-based and child-centred framework that supports learning and development from birth to age 5. The curriculum is designed to help children become confident, curious and capable learners for life. Teaching at BON balances child-led and adult-led learning. Through the SHREC approach, educators use playful, age-appropriate communication to build relationships and nurture children's confidence and curiosity. Project-based, child-led activities are shaped around children's interests, growing and evolving with each child to keep learning relevant and engaging. Alongside child-led exploration, teachers plan and guide activities to ensure every child receives the right support at the right time, adapting environments and methods to individual needs, including additional support where required. Learning is enriched with STEM and technology exposure, a multi-lingual environment, and activities that build understanding of UAE culture and heritage.

Age range: 45 days to 5 years
British Orchard Nursery organises learning into four age-based stages. Babies, from 0 to 1 year, are cared for in a nurturing 'home away from home' environment focused on secure attachment, sensory exploration and foundational skills. Toddlers, aged 1 to 2 years, are supported to explore independence through play, making choices and following their own interests with age-appropriate resources. In the Nursery stage, for children aged 2 to 3 years, play-based learning continues to respect each child's pace while building skills, knowledge and understanding. The Foundation Stage, for children aged 3 to 5 years, follows structured EYFS learning with a focus on school readiness, language development, STEM and critical thinking, guided by open-ended questions and interactive activities that build vocabulary, creativity and confident communication.
