Curriculum & Approach

BritishEYFSMontessori

Blue Bird Nursery delivers a well-designed curriculum through thematic and integrated learning, built around the British EYFS framework and incorporating elements of the Montessori philosophy across all areas of child development. Class timetables are structured to include sensory development time, Montessori time, library sessions, music and movement, and both indoor and outdoor play, with the aim of developing fine and gross motor skills alongside academic foundations. Teaching is led by early years specialist staff who are trained to understand each child's individual learning needs, regularly evaluating and recording progress to inform planning. Daily plans are shared weekly with parents to support a strong home-school connection. Language development is a core focus, with children given opportunities to learn Arabic alongside English. The nursery also highlights a diversified staff team that exposes children to different cultures and traditions, fostering an ethos of international mindedness alongside respect for their own heritage. Classrooms are designed to give children ownership over their own learning by encouraging them to make choices, supporting the development of independence and early leadership skills within a purposeful, resource-rich environment.
