Dubai British School Mira opened its doors in August 2025 under the leadership of Founding Principal Amy Falhi, who brings direct experience from within the Dubai British Schools group, having previously served as Vice Principal at Dubai British School Jumeirah Park. Her guiding philosophy — Enjoy, Aspire, Achieve — frames a leadership vision centred on wellbeing, transparency, and community partnership. As a brand-new school, DBS Mira has not yet been inspected by KHDA/DSIB, so no formal inspection rating is available. However, the school is operated by Taaleem and is the fourth school in the Dubai British Schools brand, all three of whose existing campuses carry an Outstanding KHDA rating — a distinction held by only 23 of Dubai's 233 private schools, or roughly 10% of the city's total. That legacy provides meaningful context, though parents should note that DBS Mira will be assessed independently when inspectors visit.

The senior leadership team is notably experienced for a founding school. Head of Primary George Stokes holds a Masters in Education and brings over a decade of UAE leadership experience, most recently as a founding Deputy Headteacher at The Arbor School. Deputy Head of Primary Megan Pankhurst contributes over 10 years in British curriculum schools, including time at DBS Jumeirah Park, and was instrumental in developing the school's proprietary L.I.F.E curriculum. Inclusion is given structural weight in the leadership hierarchy, with both a Director of Inclusion (Lyndsay Wing) and a Head of Inclusion (John Paton) — the latter bringing 15 years in education and 10 years of UAE leadership experience. This dual-role inclusion structure is uncommon and signals a genuine institutional commitment to diverse learner needs.

On teaching staff, the school reports 70% UK-trained teachers across a team of 48 staff, comprising 29 homeroom teachers and 19 specialist teachers serving approximately 700 students. This produces an estimated student-to-teacher ratio of roughly 1:15, which sits slightly above the Dubai-wide average of 1:13.6 across 204 schools with available data — a figure worth monitoring as the school grows. Staff retention data is not yet available given the school's inaugural year, and no WSA or inspection commentary exists at this stage.

Parent engagement is embedded in the school's founding model. The leadership has committed to community workshops shaped by parental feedback, involvement of parents in operational decisions such as drop-off and pick-up times, and a termly ECA Showcase. These are stated commitments rather than independently verified outcomes, and parents should weigh them accordingly as the school builds its track record.
