Dibber Hills Early Childhood Center

Dibber follows a Scandinavian curriculum that places strong emphasis on child well-being, outdoor learning, and projects that originate from children's own interests. The approach is built around three connected principles: a play-based approach, where children are encouraged to seek meaning and express themselves through play; an interactive approach, where collaboration and communication with peers are central to learning; and a holistic approach, which engages children's bodies and senses so they feel capable and confident as they practise new skills at their own pace. Rather than following a fixed academic timetable, the curriculum is child-led, with everyday interactions, group activities, outdoor learning, and creative experiences woven together to support both social-emotional and cognitive development. The nursery highlights that emotional security and social connection are treated as foundational to a child's later academic engagement and confidence. Meals are also treated as part of the learning experience through what Dibber calls the Dibber Meal concept, using shared mealtimes to foster fellowship and help children build a positive relationship with food alongside their everyday learning.
