Alif Ya adapts the internationally recognised Creative Curriculum, reframing its play-based, whole-child approach through Arabic language and Emirati culture. The curriculum focuses on social-emotional growth, physical development, language, cognitive skills, and early literacy and numeracy, delivered through learning centres such as blocks, dramatic play, art, discovery, sand and water, music and cooking. Teachers act as guides, observing each child's interests and developmental stage to plan individualised and group experiences, with scaffolding used to help children progress at their own pace. Older classes engage in project-based "studies" of real-world topics, such as pets, buildings or recycling, lasting several weeks and involving hands-on investigation and documentation. Arabic is introduced from the earliest stages through songs, stories, roleplay and everyday interaction, including elements such as Qur'an and Azkar, with English introduced gradually via a dedicated daily class from around age two to prepare children for a smooth transition to primary school. Emirati culture is integrated throughout, from sensory play and traditional songs for younger children to cultural values, customs and storytelling for older groups. The approach is described as inclusive of dual-language learners and children with additional needs, with strong emphasis on values such as empathy, respect and responsibility, alongside regular enrichment activities including STEM play, arts and crafts, storytelling and cultural days.
