Expected UAE Eid Holiday in Schools to start on June 14

07 June 2018

Eid Al Fitr is almost one week away, with more than half of the holy month already over. Calculations show that Friday 15 June should be the first day of Eid, however, the exact date is still yet to be announced after the final moon sightings take place by the moon sighting committee. The Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar based on the moon and astronomical calculations. The calculations this year show that Ramadan will last for 29 days. Most schools, as of now, have shown a 4-day school holiday, starting from Thursday June 14 and ending on Sunday June 17. Again, these holidays are not yet final and are subject to changes. The second Eid -- Eid Al Adha is scheduled on Wednesday, August 22, which will be during the school summer holidays.
